The Istria Peninsula is the most popular destination to Croatia for several tourist agencies in St. Petersburg. The vouchers to hotels on the Western Coast from Porec tu Pula are on sale as early as in February. But in 2007 I chose not the plainy West Coast of Istria, but the mountainy North-East, namely the Opatia resort under Ucka (Uchka) slopes. In principle Opatia belonges to the Kvarner region. Nevertheless I had the one-day excursion tour from there through all Istria. And, the main thing, I managed to hike to the top of the mountain, that I hadn't done many years before. Details are in the travelogue of 2007.
